Down To Business: Come Back...One Year!

So, it has been a few weeks since I posted my first confession about dealing with Insulin Resistance. It was hard to do, because I am a bit ashamed of the situation that I find myself in, but this is me, and I guess there is no shame in being who we are. If you want to know the story, I talked about it here, and here and...hang on...here. And also a couple of other places. But what I did not really attempt to explain was how Insulin Resistance works.

This is where my lovely and talented friend Denise comes in. She has been battling with the same issues, and, like me, is just figuring out how to eat right to keep IR from rearing its ugly, stinky little head. The Divine Miss D and I are making it a personal goal to kick the ever-lovin' crapola out of Insulin Resistance this year, and are doing our best to spread the word. She wrote and explained in the most simple and easy to understand terms just exactly HOW insulin resistance affects the body, and she is way funny, so even if you don't have blood sugar issues, you will laugh, which is the best medicine!

Read This (but shhhh...she doesn't know I am writing this and she likes to keep a low profile...you know...Paparazzi and all!)

  1. Aha! So this is why there are photographers camped outside my door! I'm sending you the bill for my personal security detail.

p.s. as promised, I did my exercise today. Thank you for making me!

  2. Hi there,

I read your posts and I am of two minds: I can't comprehend why you would be ashamed of something that isn't your fault, but also I know that it hurts when our bodies fail us.

It's just a matter of time before SOMETHING befalls us, health-wise. And thankfully this is something that you can control without medication or shots.

I say indulge a bit--life is short--but then go back to your regimen.

    Good luck!
