DigItUp: Onions Have Layers

Like ogres and onions, Miss NatureGirl does indeed have layers. Many of them. So many in fact, that we are not actually sure what she has on the inside. Probably just a creamy filling of some sort. Today's layer is being shed over at The Renegade Farmer with a little tutorial on drying onions. Yes, it IS as exciting as it sounds...

  1. Thanks for the tutorial. We grew actual onions for the very first time this year. I read the tops were supposed to fall over and turn brown, so we left them in the ground until just a couple of weeks ago. I pull up the ones that were brown, dry them on my kitchen counter for a while, yes they were in the way, and then put them in a mesh bag. Our last harvest is still outside drying on a cookie sheet because I've been too lazy to go out and put them in the bag. They taste SO good, though, so we're definitely growing them again next year. I'll even try the braiding thing! Thanks!
